Mindset Shifts Needed to Become A Successful Fempreneur

My entrepeneurial journey over the last seven years has been so eye opening and transformational. Because of my experience, I understand the challenges that come with juggling multiple roles, especially as a wife and mother of two, business owner, and so much more.

Today, I want to share the key steps and mindset shifts necessary to not only survive but thrive in the world of entrepreneurship.

You Have to Define Your Own Sucess:

The first crucial step on your entrepreneurial journey is to define success on your own terms. In a world inundated with social media portrayals of success, it's essential to resist the urge to compare your journey to others'. It’s so easy to see others killing it in their business, and feel the need to do more or switch things up. You don’t have to do that. In fact, I want you to remember that most of what we see on social media only part of the story. We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes or everything that person had to go through to get where they are today. Each person's life and journey are unique, and what works for someone else may not work for you. Take inspiration, but let your definition of success be shaped by your own values, aspirations, and circumstances.

You Can’t Skip the Mindset Work:

Mindset work is oftentimes skipped over, because it seems so self explanatory and basic. We feel like the next big strategy is going to take our businesses to new heights when in fact it’s the mindset work that propels you forward. The journey won’t be easy, but by understanding that setbacks are an inevitable part of the process you can embrace the things that don’t go so well. Trials and errors are stepping stones, not stumbling blocks. Failure is not the end but a valuable lesson on the path to success. I've faced my fair share of challenges, and with each perceived failure, I've grown stronger and closer to my goals. When I started to take the time to do the mindset work needed, I felt more at peace, aligned with my business, excited about the work I do, and I started to see some of those long awaited goals finally accomplished.

Find Your Flow With Juggling Roles:

Being a wife and mom while managing and running a business is not for the weak. Even when you find a routine, it will only last for a season when you consider how children grow, school schedules, and extracurrcicular activities. It requires intentional effort, a commitment to harmony, and flexbilitiy. .Understand that it's okay not to have everything perfectly balanced all the time. Some days home may be the priority and on others it may be business. Prioritize and delegate when needed, and most importantly, extend yourself grace. What you’re doing isn’t easy, and you deserve a pat on the back. You are breaking barriers with every step, and acknowledging your achievements – no matter how small – is crucial for maintaining a positive mindset. After 7 years in business, I finally feel like I’m finding my flow. When I started my business, my oldest daughter was one and we found out we were expecting our second my first year in business. It was tough, but the journey has been so worth it.

Embrace Trial and Error:

In order to figure out what works for you, you have to be willing to test things out. The entrepreneurial journey is filled with trial and error. Don't let fear of the failure paralyze you. Instead, view each setback as an opportunity to learn and grow. Think about what went well, what didn’t go so well, and how you can approach things differently next time. My personal experiences have taught me that failures are not a bad thing; but opportunities to learn, do, and be better.. Be willing to try new things, learn from mistakes, and consistently adapt your strategies.

Celebrate the Small Wins:

In the pursuit of long-term goals, it's easy to overlook the small wins that happen every day. Take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate these victories. Celebrate that new client, celebrate remembering to eat lunch, celebrate hitting a new income goal. This is the smallest your business will ever be, and each step forward is progress.

Being a successful female entrepreneur is not just about reaching the destination but embracing and learning from the journey. Define success on your own terms, maintain a resilient mindset, balance your roles with grace, and celebrate every small win. Remember, setbacks are temporary, but the lessons learned and the progress made are everlasting. Here's to success on your entrepreneurial path!
